She’s has arrived!! My second poetry collection, Eastern Standard Time, is out now and available here! I wrote so many of these poems when I was out hiking in the woods or off on solo writing retreats in the hills of Athens County, Ohio, synthesizing my own life experiences with what is happening in the world and how I try to make sense of it by learning as much as I can. As the blurb from the back cover explains, “Eastern Standard Time explores different types of change, holding grief and uncertainty alongside hope and beauty.”

I am over the moon and a little obsessed with how Mia Mar designed this book. The cover photo perfectly captures how Fall, Winter, and Spring can blend into each other, so that this image could have been captured during any of those seasonal transitions. And the little whimsical sketches of the leaf, snowflake, and budding leaves sprinkled though each section are wonderful, creative touches.

After self-publishing my first book, I wanted to try a different route this time, but found all the options overwhelming. I’m so grateful to author Rebecca Case for pointing me to local hybrid publisher Braughler Books. She took the time to share her insight and experience publishing her book Wonder with them, and I’m thankful for her guidance and generosity. Collaborating with David Braughler to get this little book out into the world was a fun and empowering process. He took time to answer all my questions, offered advice for things I hadn’t even thought to ask, and even hand-delivered the first run of copies to me at a local coffee shop. A huge thank you to David and his team!

Needless to say, I am so excited Eastern Standard Time finally exists in this lovely little form I can share.
